Melbourne: Power Street’s unique architectural streetscape is Melbourne’s newest piece of urban art, where Steelvision designed and constructed six spectacular architectural Steel Structures. The $1.3 million worth project was an outstanding achievement after a lot of hardwork. Using 3D design capabilities, Steelvision designed, fabricated, tested and installed 6 massive steel structures, clad with 350+ secondary frames, incorporating 8000+ powder-coated aluminium panels, one third of which were individually laser cut and positioned on the structures.
The monolithic structures with vibrant colors are bold and aesthetic. During the day, the colorful pixelated cladding on the structures shine as they reach the sky. At night, the angled structures form a reflection upon the buildings of the Southbank skyline.
As the name suggests, the intention of the project was to create a habitat for birds and other small creatures, while allowing natural vegetation to filter the air. The site includes a landscape of indigenous plants to attached wildlife along with nesting boxed and solar power lights. The steel and concrete used within the project contain high levels of recycled content making the structure ecological and environment friendly.
